Printing plate distortion calculation for flexoprinting.

Due to the thickness of the plate, with mounting the printing plates an increment occurs to the cylinder diameter and, consequently, to the print length, which requires shortening before making the forms (distortion).

Example:

Print cylinder diameter = 91.74 mm,

plate thickness = 1.7 mm,

mount tape = 0.2 mm

L = 3.14 x 2 (45.87 + 1.7 + 0.2 ) = 299.9956 mm

K = 2 x 3.14 (1.7 - 0.127) = 9.87844

Distortion = 9.87844 / 299.9956 x 100% = 3,293%

Plate size = 300 - 3.3% =  290.1 mm
